In 2002, my dad learned how to install Christmas lights from a family member who owned a commercial lighting business. He started by installing lights for family and friends, and before long, it turned into a seasonal business. My dad began attending Christmas lighting and decorating conventions (yes, there is such a thing) to learn about the best and most efficient products in the industry.

My dad loves Christmas and the true meaning behind it — the birth of Jesus. He believes the Christmas season should be celebrated, and that Christmas lights are one of the best ways to do so.

He often tells the story of installing lights on a customer’s house one evening as the parents were pulling into the driveway. As they got their children out of the car, the kids ran to the front of their home, jumping up and down with excitement. One of the little boys, shaking with joy, exclaimed, “Christmas lights make me happy!”

That simple, heartfelt moment has since become our company motto.
